Lead Development Assays

AvantiCell's portfolio of Lead Development Assays add value to candidate therapeutics initially identified by high-throughput screening. These assays are generally not amenable to high-throughput and are made available as an in-house service for the testing of non-standard cell-parameters. Examples of in-house capability, which are adaptable to meet customer requirements, are:

AvantiCell 3-D Cytotoxicity Assays

AvantiCell will, during late 2009, launch unique cell-based assays utilising 3-D culture technology to enhance assay performance. cells cultured in 3-dimensons reproduce more faithfully their behavior in vivo compared with 2-D cell cultures and, importantly, respond to drugs and other test materials in a manner more preductive of these agents' effects in animal models or clinical tests. AvantiCell's 3-D cytotoxicity assays are, therefore, more likely to predict lead compound safety / toxicity in vivo. Please contact AvantiCell to discuss your 3-D culture requirements.

Proteome Profiling

Lead compound mechanism of action is examined in standard assay cell platforms by Proteome Profiler, a unique service which matches changes in test compound bioactivity with pre-determined cell-proteome profiles elicited by agents with known cellular mechanisms of action. AvantiCell Transport Assays

AvantiCell has adapted primary cell culture technology to facilitate the study of uptake, secretion or trans-cellular transport of test compounds including xenobiotics. Examples of cellular transport systems include:
